About Duburuo

A focused platform for finding business ideas that actually fit

2021
Founded in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford

Where the platform came from

Most people who want to start a business already have the skills. What they lack is a structured way to turn those skills into a specific, viable idea. Duburuo was built to close that gap — not with inspiration boards, but with a repeatable process.

The curriculum draws on methods used by product designers and market researchers: observation, demand mapping, and small-scale testing before any real commitment. It is practical by design.

Based in Ireland, the platform is shaped by the local entrepreneurial landscape — where small business viability depends on community fit as much as market size.
How we structure idea discovery

The people behind the curriculum

Small team, clear roles. Each person on the Duburuo team works directly on course content or learner support — no layers in between.

Ciarán Ó Floinn, curriculum lead at Duburuo

Ciarán Ó Floinn

Curriculum Lead

Ciarán built the core idea-discovery framework used across all Duburuo lessons. He spent several years working with early-stage founders in the southwest of Ireland before moving into structured online education.

Sorcha Breathnach, learner experience designer at Duburuo

Sorcha Breathnach

Learner Experience

Sorcha designs the flow of each module — how exercises are sequenced, where learners tend to stall, and what keeps the process from feeling abstract. Her background is in instructional design and adult learning.

Fionnbarra Uí Néill

Research & Content

Fionnbarra handles the market research components of the course — the sections on demand validation, competitor analysis, and pricing. He keeps the material grounded in what actually works at small scale.

Bláithín Ní Dhochartaigh

Learner Support

Bláithín manages direct support for enrolled learners. She answers questions, flags where the course needs clarification, and feeds that back into content updates. Response time is typically under one business day.
